Hello!Project is a product of a generation in Japan and perhaps the general popular music scene of the world. While one lone artist performing is still the norm, recording companies have been trying various ways to refresh the atmosphere (and perhaps also the CD sales). In 1997 Mitsuo Terada for whatever reason decided to recruit a female vocalist for his own band, yet while in midst of the auditions discovered an unique possibility from the 5 girls whom didn’t make it—and the rest is history.
